Summary
"Movement of Life," an acrylic and oil crayon on canvas triptych painted by Navajo artist Garrett Etsitty. Swirling geometric and curvilinear designs in hues of green and blue cover the gradient purple surface of each of the three panels that make up this painting. It is painted in the post-graffiti style popular with this artist. Painting was completed January 2013, and each panel is 24" H x 12" W. "Movement of Life" consists of three panels. The first panel has a gradient purple background cutting along the diagonal. Segmented geometric designs cover the surface and are painted in hues of green and blue. The designs radiate from the upper proper right and lower proper left corners and extend part way up each side. Swirling marks in green, red, and pink surround and at points cross the other designs. Overlaying the surface of these designs is a fine layer of yellow spatter paint. The dominant geometric designs are outlined in bold borders of green, black, and white. The other two panels continue the designs and colors of the first panel. The designs, in fact, appear to continue across the surface of all three panels when they are placed next to one another. The gradient background as well as the spatter painting is also continued on the other two panels. The edges of all three panels are painted black
